Who are the PFA?

The PFA is made up of a very willing group of Parents and Friends of Wyndham Primary School.

They are currently led and Chaired by Mrs J Bramwell, Mum of Megan and Thomas. Both Mrs C Hayter, Mum to Freddy and Poppy, and Miss T Campbell, Mum of Alice, are the Co Vice-Chairs of the PFA. Mr R Bramwell, Dad of Megan and Thomas, is our Treasurer and Miss L Lowdon, mum of Jessie, is our Vice Treasurer. 

We are always keen to welcome new members to the PFA so if you’re interested in finding out more, please call into the school office or attend one of the PFA coffee mornings in school.

What is the role of the PFA?

They are a group of parents who help to generate ideas, support school events and raise funds to support activities and events within school. The PFA organise and run the end of term events which further enrich the experiences of the children at Wyndham. Such events include the Christmas Fair, Easter assembly and Summer Fairs however they are always considering how to extend their support and fundraising activities. This year the PFA have organised events such as film nights, the Halloween disco and the Christmas Fayre!

How do the PFA support the school?

“The PFA help to raise valuable funds for our children which is something that we as a school are incredibly grateful for. This additional funding helps us to provide the children with additional opportunities and experiences and to afford items that would otherwise be a struggle - this is something that we are going to be increasingly thankful for in a time of tightening school budgets. The PFA also play a pivotal role in supporting our parents, carers and family members to become more involved in the wider school community and for that I am would also like to say thank you!” Mrs R Cleary

What have the PFA helped the school to provide funding towards?

The largest item that the PFA helped to support the school with in the recent past was developing the Key Stage One yard and installing the Pirate Ship and trim-trail for the children to play on. The PFA were involved in all aspects of this installation from initially generating ideas and gathering the opinions of parents, to liaising with suppliers and supporting school leaders to choose the final design. Another unique experience that the PFA have helped to provide is the opportunity for the children to visit the Theatre Royal to attend Ballet performances. In the near future the PFA are hoping to help the school to further develop the Key Stage Two yard and will be working alongside leaders and teachers to do so.
