Miss K Fas

 

Governor responsibility: Chair of Governors

 

Date became a school Governor: I joined the trust in December 2021. I joined WPS in February 2024. 

 

Experiences that support role as Governor: I taught in the local area for nearly 10 years before joining the teacher training charity 'Teach First' in 2019 where I am now 'Head of Programme Design'. I’m an experienced senior leader and line manager, with a passion for educational equity. I am both professionally and personally committed to social justice and the power of education in transforming lives.

 

 

 

Mrs A Todd

 

Governor Responsibility: Co-opted Governor. Safeguarding Link Governor.

 

Experience as a Governor: Became a governor in October 2017.

 

Experiences that support role as Governor: Mrs. Todd first became involved with Wyndham School when her eldest son began reception in 2017, he is the third generation of his family to attend the School. More recently her daughter started to attend the school nursery in 2021. Mrs. Todd hopes to make a positive contribution to the school and wider community so that the school's outstanding reputation can be upheld for more generations. Mrs. Todd believes that schools should provide a nurturing environment where children should feel safe and happy, thus providing the foundations for learning and achieving their full potential.

Mrs. Todd works in another local first school as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant and is passionate about her role as Unison Shop Steward and Health and Safety Rep.

Having over fifteen years' employment within the education sector Mrs. Todd has a diverse understanding of various roles which are undertaken within a School. Through her career experience and parents’ perspective she hopes to challenge the school to attain their aspirations for the future.

 

 

Mr J Collum

 

Governor Responsibility: Co-opted Governor. Member of Staffing sub-committee and Portfolio Holder for Health, Safety & Premises.

 

Experience as a Governor: Became a governor in September 2020.

 

Experiences that support role as Governor: Mr Collum is a Chartered Accountant having qualified with Deloitte LLP in Newcastle upon Tyne. Mr Collum brings skills and experience in governance, risk management and compliance to the Local Governing Board in addition to financial management practices and internal control. Mr Collum is passionate about education and the role of school in the community to provide high quality education and a positive ethos for children to thrive through learning and enjoyment. He provides constructive challenge to leadership to support achievement of our aspirations for the behaviour, progress and attainment of all pupils, as well as a safe learning environment for pupils and staff.

 

 

Mrs Samantha Diston 

 

Governor responsibility: Mixed so far and going to have different responsibilities from September. I have previously monitored school meals and equality, diversity and inclusion 

 

Date became a school Governor: May 2021

 

Experiences that support role as Governor: Mrs Diston is a mental health nurse and has worked in the NHS since 2008, she currently manages children's mental health teams. She has experience of leading teams through inspections and clinical reviews ensuring high quality, safe and efficient services. Mrs Diston has 3 children in school and she is keen to use her professional and personal experiences to ensure school is as safe, holistic and supportive an environment as possible to help our children learn and thrive. 

 

Mrs Carly Rhodes

 

Governor responsibility: Pupil Premium 

 

Date became a school Governor: September 2022

 

Experiences that support role as Governor: Mrs Rhodes has 17 years experience as a secondary school teacher including senior leadership roles. She is currently Head of Design in a secondary school in Northumberland.
