Mrs Pattison - Lead Professional

I have been employed as Lead Professional at Wyndham Primary School since March 2014.  I am committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and their families. I liaise closely with children, families, school staff and other agencies in relation to safeguarding, attendance and family support matters.  I assist with the development of policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding and attendance.  I also deliver short term, targeted nurture group sessions designed to improve outcomes. 

I really enjoy every day in school being completely different.  I never know what each day brings, and I never feel bored.  Working with children and their families to support them in reaching their full potential and walking alongside them while they succeed is extremely rewarding.  Now and then challenges arise, which can be disappointing.  Such as, extensive waiting lists for access to external services and some services can be under resourced.  Covid-19 restrictions have recently prevented home visits and face to face meetings, which has taken a lot of adapting to.  School attendance has taken a dramatic decline because of the pandemic, not just locally, but nationally.  This is a challenge I am currently working hard to overcome. 

The introduction of SMART Multi Academy Trust has allowed me the opportunity to share experience and knowledge through a more collaborative approach.  The day-to-day practices and procedures of school life now seem to be developing a common vision across the multi academy trust.  I enjoy being part of the SMART Safeguarding and Attendance operational group. 

I have experienced a very happy eight years so far, employed at Wyndham Primary School.  I feel privileged to have met some amazing and entertaining children.  The families I have supported have always shown gratitude and staff all do their upmost to maintain the Wyndham family feel.  The sense of belonging at Wyndham along with focused and motivational leadership makes coming to school each day, a pleasure. I look forward to making may more happy memories at Wyndham.
