Lunch Menu 2023-2024
School Meals
High quality school food and a positive lunchtime experience can improve both children’s health and their performance academically.
All school meals are cooked on site by our school chef and catering team. Meals are then served to all children in the school hall.
At Wyndham we offer a delicious menu that is carefully designed to provide a balanced and healthy meal. Our menu (which can be found by clicking the link above) runs on a three-week cycle offering meals such as fish and chips, chicken korma curry, pizza and a roast dinner which are all firm favourites here at Wyndham!
All our meals offered are also available as a vegetarian and halal options. As well as our main hot meals, to promote choices and a balanced diet we also offer jacket potatoes and sandwiches as an alternative and there is always a wide variety of salad and fresh fruit available.
Please let the school office know if your child has any allergies or dietary requirements.
During special occasions we also offer themed school meals such as Christmas Lunch and speciality meals for Chinese New Year!
Payments
A school meal costs £3 for all pupils per day. All meals are to be paid for in advance via Arbor.
Please contact the school office if you have any trouble making payment.
Free School Meals
Since September 2014 all infant children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in state-funded schools have been entitled to receive a free school meal.
The aims of the Universal Infant Free School Meals Programme are,
- To improve children’s educational attainment, social skills and behaviour.
- To ensure children have access to a healthy meal each day.
- To help families with the cost of living.
You may also be entitled to free school meals once your child moves to Key Stage 2. To find out we recommend you complete the eligibility form, by clicking the link below. We advise that you do this as soon as possible and you do not have to wait until your child reaches Year 3.
Packed Lunches
At Wyndham Primary School we offer a nutritious healthy eating programme however if you wish, your child may bring a packed lunch to school.
Parents of pupils who bring packed lunches are asked to be mindful of the need for healthy eating by all pupils. Pupils are encouraged to have a balanced diet and are asked not to bring fizzy drinks or drinks in cans or glass bottles to school, nor are they allowed sweets or chocolate.
You child may alternate between school lunches and packed lunch on a daily basis. Meal choices are taken by register each morning in class.
