Wyndham is a fully inclusive school.

At Wyndham, we pride ourselves on being an extremely inclusive, caring and forward thinking school at the heart of the local community.  Children’s all-round development is paramount to us and we endeavour to provide children with a wide range of experiences and opportunities so that they experience success and are well equipped for their future education. Our school is a primary academy and is part of Smart Multi Academy Trust.  The Smart Multi Academy Trust SENDCos share expertise and resources across the Trust. Where we find that additional expertise, equipment or facilities are required, we work with relevant partner organisations and external agencies to secure them. This could include social service providers, such as health professionals, the Local Authority, and voluntary organisation specialists as we maintain strong professional relationships with all of these partners.

Although basic skills form the core of our curriculum, we strongly believe that all children need a broad and balanced curriculum. Our curriculum is well established and is underpinned by children’s literature and meaningful and engaging learning contexts, which enable children to develop spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of learning.

Within Wyndham, all staff ensure they follow the SEND Descriptors of Need and Universally Available Provision, these documents are provided by the Local Authority and describe the provision that should be  available across all mainstream schools (within Newcastle) and settings for pupils with SEND.

Concerns or complaints

If you have any concerns about your child’s SEND progress or provision we would urge you to come into school and discuss matters further with your child’s class teacher or our SENDCO, Miss Lennie by email admin.wps@smartacademies.net or phone on 0191 2853895.

Alternatively,  Miss Chisholm and Miss Coulter are also available to help. Although we would always hope to resolve any issues or concerns informally by working in partnership with parents, school complaints procedures are in place.
